Cheese In The News – Vol. 2

675873_10722380BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOUR CHEESE INTAKE!

Ok people, it is time for a revolution!  We must all stand up against tyrannical (read ignorant) supermarket employees who decide to play God!

In Bedford, England, a woman was told that she couldn’t have an unpasteurised cheddar (mmmmm…cheddar) because she was pregnant.  The twit behind the deli counter, who apparently is an ob-gyn in his spare time, refused to sell her the cheese until she promised not to eat any of it.

Unpasteurised cheese is not recommended for pregnant women in their first trimester, and our poor victim of the Cheese Czar is 6 months along.   The supermarket did apologize for the idiotic behaviour after receiving a letter of complaint.  Letter of complaint!  They are sooooo lucky that the hormonal, cheese-craving mum-to-be only decided to wield a pen!!  Nobody, and I do mean NOBODY, should ever get between a pregnant woman and her cheese!  EVER.

Sheesh.

Really funny post. While I think its nice of the guy to make her aware of the danger I think its ridiculous for him to have refused to sell it to her until she promised she wouldn’t eat it. For all he knew she could have been out shopping for her mother. Twit was a great word to use. Thanks for sharing. Please visit my blog when you get a chance.
