Much to my surprise, The Kids in the Hall are back with a new series! I guess I just wasn’t paying attention to the latest entertainment news, which is just as well. The anticipation of waiting months for the première would have killed me.

For those who don’t know who they are, you may have been living under a rock during the 1990′s. And no, this is not a purely Canadian thing because at some point in the 90′s, I actually watched an episode of KITH from the comfort of a barstool in New Orleans. No, I was not drunk. American beer is kinda weak

So yeah, they’ve got an 8 part mini series called Death Come To Town. It takes place in the fictional town of Shuckton, Ontario, a small, crappy town that’s vying for the 2028 Summer Olympics, although that’s not the plot. See, it’s a murder mystery, which is where Death comes in. Yes, The Grim Reaper himself (Mark McKinney) shows up on his motorized banana-seat bicycle and checks himself into a shitty motel, where he waits for his “call”.

The first episode aired on January 12, and it was a blast to watch. The premise is great, and well, from a nostalgic point of view, it’s just awesome to see them all in character again. At 22 minutes an episode, you really can’t go wrong. Some of the old characters are slated to make cameos, but the new ones are classic KITH. We’ve got men in drag, high pitched screaming, ridiculous scenarios, and that certain “something” that makes The Kids In The Hall so hard to peg, but so easy to love.

So welcome back Kids!
