I do play pool. Quite a bit of my misspent youth was misspent in seedy pool halls. Ahh, the good ole days! But, I digress! When you put it in those terms, it seems to make quite a bit of sense. I still don't think I'll ever be a fan, but at least now I have context. Thanks! And the US is certainly "cleaning up" even without curling Sweepers! Groan :-)

Sorry, couldn't resist!

Okay, I understand must sports. I really like curling. I have posted the somewhat basic of the game in my terms on the site I linked to you. I am happy about Canada's curling teams. Ours (US team) are not living up to our expectations. So let's look at curling, think of Pool, do you play? Curling is like a game of pool if you look at how the rocks have to be hit. To get around a rock and not give them a point, one has to really know how to guide the rock. To guide the rock one need to create a smooth surface for speed and direction. The Sweepers cause a thin water trail for the rock to follow. Really the sweepers are the key to placement of the rock. I hope Canada take home a medal. I know we will not.

Jayne - I always have the overwhelming urge to pronounce luge with a hard "g" and a "y" at the end! It's childish, I know, but we are talking about sledding here.

Jen - Golf! The sport of walking around in ugly pants! Right up there with those other awesome sports: curling, luge, pole dancing and Farmville!

Glad you enjoyed :-)
