Mike – I swear, I took hundreds of photos of myself and every single time, the cat photobombed the shot.

Nicky – I call it “Portrait of a girl who, in an act of total desperation while being at a trade show miles away from home, took a picture of a picture of rocks on her hotel room wall because she’s already late for the show and has to leave.”

And the silent auction begins…. NOW!

  • Mike: Stupid cat.

Nicky: At last it’s confirmed. You’ve got rocks in your head. (Don’t forget to wave on your way back.)

  • Mike: cat’s are notorious photobombers. Didn’t they teach you that in Cat 101?

Nicky: the reflection of the unmade bed in the glass tells the story as well as your hastily jotted words. Have fun out there!

Can you take a portrait of rocks?  Wouldn’t that just be a picture of rocks?  I’m obsessed with the proper definition of “portrait” now, aren’t I?

Do not hate on the kitty – kitties always make cuter photos than people anyway.

  • Ha ha!  Those are great!  Kitties photobomb?  I thought that was just teenage boys.  At least in my house it is… but now I have to look back at photos that have my cat in them!

  • Mike, I thought you were making it up about Dobson, photo bombing your efforts.   OK maybe that’s true.

Nicky, sorry you are having to work but I tried to help by posting a portrait of you.  Guess you just have to blame the cats.

  • Mike – Pretty shot, I’m sure that the cat was just trying to get more blog post time. It is so obviously starved for attention.
Nicky – Love it! Rocks deserve blog time too!

  • According to Merriam AND Webster, you failed, Nicky. 🙂 http://mw3.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/portrait As for you, Mike, you also failed, because the definition says it’s supposed to be a person. Ha. But if you’re going to fail, both of you, go big and you did. Nice landing — flat on your faces. 😉

  • Now if you had gotten pictures of that, those would have been portraits. 🙂

  • Mike: Well, at least it’s a pretty cat..

Nicky: That is not a portrait. Couldn’t you at least have take a photo of your own reflection in the glass? Like, perhaps when you were wearing only a bathrobe, or your underwear, or nothing at all? THAT would have been a portrait.

  • Mike: A cat photobombing is perfectly acceptable, and sometimes preferable 😉

Nicky: I think you can be forgiven for it not actually being a portrait of a person, but guess what? It IS a portrait (as in ‘upright’) and not a landscape painting! That makes it a portrait painting in my book 😉

  • Ok everyone. I’m working my ass off at this trade show, but decided to take a minute and check in. For all those that say my portrait is not a portrait I say you are WRONG. You can see my reflection in the picture therefore it is a portrait. Plus, I took it as I was running out the door carrying my suitcase and 15 million boxes to take to this trade show and by the way I was wearing 6 inch heels on top of all that. For that alone, I declare myself today’s winner. 🙂

  • I agree. Plus there is a tiny bit of reflection. A teeny tiny bit.

Mike, I can’t believe the cat was so serious about catbombing your photos. Take it to the vet?

  • CheesyMike:  Is that really you behind the cat because I’m just not seeing the ears.  Heh, heh.  Fun shot.

Nicky:  It’s way better than mine.  Besides, it’s getting down to desperation time (or, in other words:  “I can’t wait till this shit is over” time).

  • Cheryl, that is hysterical!! And where did you get that photo (the one behind all the cats) ?!?

  • Ha! Nicky photobombed by cats is hilarious! And yeah, it’s all true and not staged in the least 😉

  • Yes, that’s really me, I’m just obscured by cat.

  • See, the thing is I just had him fixed which I thought would slow him down. In fact, he’s even more energetic than before and wants to be everywhere I am.

  • I agree. I may let him photobomb some more before this is all over 🙂

  • That he is. I’m not too happy about the blurry quality of the pic though, but it worked in a pinch.

  • Yeah, I didn’t even get the orientation of my photo correct. It’s landscape orientated.

  • I love it – someone looked it up – and it wasn’t me!

  • I love the portrait, Mike.  He’s gorgeous!

Nicky, you win this one.  Hands down.  This is the most radical portrait I’ve ever seen.

  • That is the photo on Meleah’s post when you visited her.  I cropped it so it was just you and her friend…which is taking the place for my pretend placement of Mike.

  • MalisaHargrove

Mike, cute kitty.  The kitty deserves to take over your shot.

Nicky, I see a bed and rocks. While it is okay to get your rocks in the bed, it is not okay to have rocks in your bed.

  • Mike – Your cat photo-bombing = HILARIOUS!

  • Nicky- you are too cute! And, you totally “Rock The Casbah!”

  • mikewjattoomanymornings

    Mike, I don’t believe you.

Nicky, you’re at a trade show. Surely you could’ve found a pretty girl or two to photograph, right?

  • HEY, what did we say about cat pictures?

  • Mike, awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww  Nicky, go girl!  I like the reflection of your hotel room in the glass.
