Facing The Consequences

Welcome to day 29 of 30 Days of Writing, a creative writing challenge that never ends, it just goes on and on, my friends. Some people started writing it not knowing what it was, and they’ll continue writing it forever just because this is the creative writing challenge that never ends… Our prompt today is “Breaking the rules”. Don’t link up at the end of this post if you’ve participated in today’s challenge and are taking the prompt to heart.

    Since when?

  • I know, right?

  • That is the best cartoon EVER! It made me laugh outloud!

  • I would have nothing to write about if I stopped Mocking Mo!

  • If I were a dirty old man…

I guess it took a LITTLE time to put your own words in the ‘Bart Simpson Generator’.
I can’t really throw stones today; my glass house is displaying an oldie but awsome-ie, so I could be accused of mailing it in today too -especially bad on the second to last day!

Maybe you could have continued with that free spirited girl on the dark desert highway?

She could be sweating in the oppressive heat when she passes a roadside motel.  The splash in the pool draws her eye to a knapsack and a pile of clothes.  She can’t see who just jumped in, but the dusty footprints from the low fence to the pool tell the story -a hiker stealing a swim.

A young woman’s head breaks the surface, her auburn hair floating about her.  She’s skinnydipping, but makes no attempt to hide herself.  The two lock eyes and no words are needed.  The swimmer bites her lip as the free spirit slips over the fence.  San Francisco can wait an hour…

    (Good start, right? hahahaha)

  • Bart is a busy boy….

  • I’m glad nobody can make us write that 450 times.  If I didn’t have my family, what would I write about?

  •  Bahahahahahaha! I think yours is truer than mine… no, I KNOW yours is truer than mine!!

  • That’s what I said! But it seems like *some* people feel differently. *Some* people think it’s an unwritten rule that personal family matters should not be mocked publicly. *Some* people don’t realize that they’re waving the red flag at me when they say that. 🙂

  • First off, *if* you were a dirty old man? Seriously? Secondly, my free spirited girl on a dark desert highway was a guy. And lastly, that’s actually not half bad. You should submit it to such literary giants as Playboy or Penthouse.

  • That was my response too, Babs! Apparently, though, it wasn’t deemed a valid argument. Bah!

  • Glad you liked it Katherine! I did too, but it would appear I’m in the minority at my house. 🙂

  • Don’t have a cow, man.

  • Well, take no notice, and keep on mocking 😉

  • Hey!  I’m neither dirty (daily showers) nor old.  Relatively.
    and
’50 shades’ made a ton of cash, think about it…

  • Yes, it is true… that pork is not a verb.

  • Families can be so sensitive at times.

Damn! I can’t I think of anything to write. There’s a hissing sound escaping from my ears. Must be my brain decompressing.

  • hahaha!!!  Love it!!

  • That’s exactly what I told them, P.J. It didn’t help matters any…

  • I know. You’d think after nearly 3 years of blogging, they’d be used to public humiliation but apparently not. Sigh.

As long as it’s only a hissing sound and not actual clumps of brain, I think you’ll be okay, Lauren. 🙂

  • Thanks Nicki!

  • Lucky 13.

  • Now, I worried.

  • BAWAHAHHAhHAhHAHhHAHh!

  • Interesting that I found your website after your 30 day challenge ended – participating in the challenge would have been a very good thing for me to do, to get my writing going! I’m bookmarking your blog now as a “favorite” for me to come back and read again when I have a few extra minutes. Certainly looks like the topics you have chosen to write about are captivating!

  • Welcome, Linda! Our 30 day challenge was definitely challenging, but also a lot of fun!  Thanks for adding us to your favourites, feel free to poke around whenever you like! 🙂
