Shiny – 30 Days of Photos Day 1

This time around, for 30 Days of Photos, I swore that I’d get a head start and take at least half of the shots in advance. I ended up taking 1 with 30 Days of Photos in mind because all I could remember from the list was the first item: Shiny. I took other photos but I have no idea how to work them in yet.

So here’s my first photo: the shiny engine parts of a Harley Davidson that I found on display at the mall:

The insanity that is 30 Days of Photos III is brought to you by Mike and Ziva.

  • Ohh, shiny! I’ve always wondered how people keep their bikes so clean. They have to spend a lot more time cleaning them than actually riding them, and where’s the fun in that?

  • Now that’s cool…and shiny.

  • That’s really an interesting shot. Good job, Nicky.

If I’m seeing the reflection accurately, you didn’t get your new camera yet. Which reminds me to tell you that I use a Nikon D60. Nikons are great cameras, probably better than the Canons some people use, but I wouldn’t recommend the D60 because unlike all other Nikon cameras, its lenses aren’t interchangeable. They’re specific to the camera. Leave it to me to make this kind of stupid mistake when shelling out hundreds and hundreds of dollars (loonies) for new gear…..
    Oh, and nice photo, Mike.

  • Now that is TOTALLY SUPER AWESOME!

  • Did you think I had forgotten you? No such luck. I have a little something for you.

  • I had similar thoughts too Mike, and Shiny was all that I could remember – thus my pathetic photo for today! Your photo is awesome!

  • Not so much into bikes, but you’ve definitely got the shiny part covered. Good first day!

  • Day one and I already screwed up. I thought this was going to be We Work for Cheese’s entry today…covering both of you. So I made a graphic to share. Had I known Nicky was doing her own photo, I wouldn’t of made the motorcycle a shoe, Not very manly, I admit.

i thought about a motorcycle too for shiny. nice job with this one.

Shiny bikes! Yay! A wonderful, manly choice!

  • I could only remember STEEL so I’m good for that day way off in the distant future. Sweet & shiny ride!

  • Barb

wish my engine looked this shiny!

  • SHINY SHINY SHINY PRETTY SHINYYYY!

  • Coco

Well maintenance just for this photo! Beautiful one.

  • I wish I even had an engine like that!

  • I was actually going to use this for Steel, so now I need a Plan B.

  • And that’s why I took a closeup. Otherwise it’s a bike in the mall, which is much less manly for some reason.

  • Thanks, LadyV!

  • Yep, we completely nixed the ‘dual post’ idea, but wow, that graphic! The shoe works somehow, and that biker chick…I’m going to have nightmares 🙂

  • Thanks, Linda. The only bike I actually ride is the pedalling kind.

  • The only time a bike is this clean is when it’s on display. In the mall. Which is where this was.

  • It’s so shiny, you can see me in it.

  • You mean ‘Mike’ 😉

  • Yep, I’m aiming for the Nikon, I’ve just been too busy to actually make it to a store. And that’s one of the things I was looking at: interchangeable lenses, so thanks for the heads up!

  • Thank you!

  • Again…that biker chick…OMG.

  • Thanks!

  • Yep 🙂

  • Thanks, LM! And your photo isn’t pathetic. Coffee is very important, and in some cases, shiny.

  • 🙂

  • At least you’ve got more than one photo taken. I just took my second. I’m going to have trouble, aren’t I.

  • Why are the words “Get you’re motor running, head out on the highway…” filtering through my head?
