You Know You Wanna

Do you want to be a world-famous blogging sensation? Do you want gazillions of dollars? Do you want beautiful people throwing themselves at your feet? Do you want to douse your retinas with acid every time you see a commercial for Here Comes Honey Boo Boo?

News crew camerman

News crews everywhere will be lining up to talk to you. Or other people. Probably other people.

If you answered yes to any of those questions, you need to move along now. This is not the blog post for you.

Yes, this picture of an adorable kitten playing in a waste basket is a desperate attempt to keep you here. No one can resist cute kitten pictures.

Yes, this picture of an adorable kitten playing in a waste basket is a desperate attempt to keep you here. No one can resist cute kitten pictures.

If, however, you are in the market for some creativity, inspiration, fun and the chance to bond with other bloggers, then you need to move along now. This is not the blog post for you.

Cute puppy

Ok, please don’t leave. You don’t like kittens? Here. Here’s a puppy.

Now, if what you’re really looking for is stress, frustration, aggravation and the opportunity to be mocked on a daily basis, you need to stay right here. This is the blog post for you.

Because, you see, We Work For Cheese is mortified to announce that we are hosting the Second First Annual 30 Minus 2 Days of Writing Challenge!

That’s right. We’re doing it again. The Second First Annual 30 Minus 2 Days of Writing Challenge will begin February 1st and will end February 28th – provided we can find enough bloggers crazy… I mean, desperate… I mean, adventurous enough to join in.

And if you’ve read this far, it’s very likely that you are all those things. Or, you really can’t resist kittens and puppies. Whatever, we’ll take it. So leave us a comment letting us know that you’re in as well as your suggestions for possible prompts.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I must start drinking. Heavily.

Yes … but what IS it?

  • It’s a WRITING challenge! πŸ™‚ We provide a list of 28 prompts, one for every day of the month. Participants write a post per day using the prompts. I’ll have a linky thing here where participants can link up their posts and check out what other participants have written.

    So… wanna play along?

  • Love these… especially Confucius!! I have a question, though. Was “What was I thinking” a suggestion for a prompt, or are you already questioning your sanity? πŸ™‚

  • Do you have any idea when themes will be finalized so we can start getting ready to get run over in February? πŸ˜€

I’m not going to be an outlier. I’m in.

Are there any rules, or are we expected to soldier through this muck and grime without any sense of structure or form like stray electrons whizzing through — as opposed to on — the vast emptiness of space?

I’m in, god help me, but you’d better put out.

  • MikeWJ

For prompts, I’d like to suggest:

    Panties in my pocket
    Occum’s razor
And that’s why I got drunk
What Steve Jobs whispered in my ear before he died
Where can I get a good blintz?
    How I feel about batteries
    All things lunar

    I can write anything? It’s not a fiction-writing exercise?

If not, I might just join in, since it’s February .. I already have a January challenge and don’t like to take on too much at once time.

  • Nope, it’s not a fiction-writing exercise. I’m going to be posting the details of the challenge and the final prompts later today, but you can at least get an idea of what the structure of the challenge is like by visiting this post :

  • Thanks. This is very helpful. Really.

  • You know how much I love rules… what do you think? Soldier away, my friend.

Ziva already suggested that prompt… πŸ™‚

  • MikeWJ

Admit it, these are brilliant prompts. And I didn’t even include Outlier, because it’s such an obvious winner.
