30 Days of Photos IV: Tremor

“Today’s prompt sucks” is all I could think of when trying to come up with something for Day 12 of MikeWJ and Ziva‘s 30 Days of Photographs IV.

But I realized that the answer to today’s theme was under my nose the whole time. Yes, it’s the return of an item which made an appearance in Backwards. This is a vibrato/tremolo pedal which adds a um…vibrato/tremolo effect to whatever instrument you plug into it.  I also think this photo is a little out of focus due to me rushing to take it before I go to work. Another example of Tremor.

You’ve all heard examples of the tremolo effect. Here are two fine ones. The effect is obvious in the intro to both songs:

Now head on over to Ziva‘s, link up, and see how everyone else interpreted today’s theme.

  • Well done! I really struggled with this one. And I love that you included great music references.

  • Oh yes! The lovely tremolo kind of tremor 🙂

  • Coolio!!!! Great take on this prompt!!!

  • Love your take on the prompt – and the musical examples so I’d know what the heck you were talking about. I am not musically inclined. 🙁

  • Boy you sure know how to pic ’em.

Ooh, what a good idea for tremor. Nice job.

  • Ahh, music, I should’ve known. 🙂 Great idea, Mike. However, I take offense to the whole “this prompt sucks” thing. None of our prompts suck, they are all magnificent in their brilliance.

  • Love it! CCR has always been one of my favorites. Bring on the tremolo!

I can’t write right now. I’m too busy listening to the music! Makes me tremble all over!

  • Very VERY clever! Great picture too!

  • Yep, that would do it. Crank that up and the walls shake. A nice blast from the past.

  • Thanks 🙂

  • It’s easier to listen to an example than to go all boring and technical, no?

  • Sometimes yes, sometimes, not so much.

  • Thanks, Ref.

  • It definitely has its place. I think it’s amazing when it works.

  • It was the only way to explain it without boring everyone to tears 😉

  • Yup 🙂

  • Thanks, Katherine 🙂

  • Of course they are. They’re just a little misunderstood, huh.

  • That song is one of the best examples 🙂

  • That’s why they invented music in the first place 🙂

  • Certain guitar parts just need it.

  • Excellent! Tremolo is one of those effects that I’m very picky about but when it’s used well I love it. Take Isobel Campbell’s “Sunrise.” Gorgeous!

  • Way to make us all look like chumps. A couple of great songs and perfect examples of tremolo.

    awesome !

  • Great take on “tremor”. That was fun to listen to the Creedence Clearwater Revival song. That album came out when I was in high school. I might still have it in one of my old record cases.
